ACONITUM NAPELLUS Acon.
The source--The remedy is prepared from a type of tree mainly found in America, Central Europe, Asia and Himalaya.
It is a rapid worker. The action is displayed quickly. It is mainly used in acute cases. Dr. N.C. Ghosh MD. has written "If you do not know what to give, give Nux.vomica or Aconite nap." It is true to some extent but not always. He must have said it on the basis of the fact that Nux. V. and Aconite Nap. work as an antidote to each other and therefore either one may offer some relief.
The fear and restlessness are two main symptoms of this remedy. I took three pills of this remedy during my experiments and it created great restlessness. Not willing to sit at one place and always walking all around in the home, but do not exactly know "moving for what?" Moving offered some relief.
I have always used it as an antidote. It works wonder as an antidote for few remedies. It is worth to note that any one remedy can never be used as an antidote to all other remedies. I gave 1/30th of a pill of this remedy to a 12 year old child. She used to fall sick soon after takin the remedy. It indicated that the remedy is working against the required remedy (constitution of the patient)
Potency-- 30th potency
Quantity--1/30th to 1/120th part of a pill.
It can be antidoted by Nux. vom. 30 or Belladonna 30.
In case after giving Aconite 30--1/30th of a pill, the patient's condition worsen, you can give Nux. vomica. 30-1/60 of a pill as an antidote. Note that Nux.v 30 works longer than Aconite 30., (in the same quantity). Therefore quantity of Nux.v. should be less than Aconite. Remember the quantity of the antidote should be much less than the quantity of the remedy to be antidoted, at any given time. Now the question is--why did I need to mention "At any given time" because few remedies have periodical aggravation and few have aggravation depending up on time and situation. So, if the remedy(antidote) aggravates at a given time
or situation, it may work as follow-up remedy and make the remedy(to be antidoted) more strong instead of antidoting. So, the quantity of the antidote must be as less as posiible. and we can have freedom of repeating the antidote again.
Case- A lady about 65 year old, took three pills of Kreosotum 30. I knew that the quantity given was too much more than the required quantity. So, after about 30 months when the remedy reached it's peak action and about to leave the body, the old lady fell sick. I controlled all her sickness (Drug disease) by giving 1/30th of a pill of this remedy. It controlled the situation beautifully. Repeated the same quantity as and when required.
